Tips for Civil Services Examination

Hello Friends,

By God's grace, I secured All India Rank 53 in the Civil Services Examination conducted by UPSC in 2013-2014. It was my second attempt. In my first attempt I had opted for Physics and Public Administration as my optionals. Since in 2013, the pattern was changed by UPSC and only one optional had to be opted, I wrote the exam with Physics.
During my preparation I often felt that a proper and sincere guidance from those who already have been passed through this process can really turn the table for a candidate. But this proper guidance is often lacking or becomes inconspicuous in the vast ocean of misinformation. I have derived lots of benefit and inspiration from blogs written by previous years' successful candidates and consider it both an honour and responsibility to write these posts so as to keep adding to the good work. Depending upon the time available, I will be putting up my strategy for General Studies, Physics, Essay and Interview. I hope you will find it useful.
